As a ponder that question, I give you the last in this series. I got out of the car and hiked up the mountainside to get this view. I was amazed at all the roads circling the hills in the distance.

the turn

The road up mount Spokane contains several sharp turns. I find it very fitting that that the sign(meant for the ski park) has a black diamond for most difficult.

rocks, trees and sky

Although nobody lives there this house shares the same view that a showed you yesterday. The vista house was built at the summit in 1934.

I think you can see my house from here!

On top of Mt. Spokane there was this field of rocks. Today though they are completely covered, because of the 128 inches of snow at the summit.

As I mentioned earlier Mt. Spokane has an elaborate ski park. Although I have not been up to ski yet this year, the mountain is experiencing a great season, probably busy with skiers and boarders.

ascending

A great thing about Mount Spokane is not only the view from the top, It's the drive up there. On this trip, steam was rising off the road as we ascended the Mountain. I thought this would look better in black and white. What do you think?

Mount Spokane

With the winter lingering on, and the weather showing no sign of change, I'm going to continue with another series from my photo archive. This is my lead into a series of Mount Spokane. Right now the mountain is busy with skiers, But in the summer we take a yearly drive up there. This is the view I'm blessed with when the morning fog burns off.
Have a nice weekend!

patio in the fog

This was the scene outside my window this morning. Our table collapsed under the weight of the snow. The rest of the patio furniture appeared unharmed. The furthest tree to the left is one of our willow trees we planted a couple of years ago.

Wildflower

This was taken on a road trip last July. I'm not sure what kind of flower this is, of if it's a flower at all. But it reminds me of spring, and all the photo opportunities that come with it. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend!

we were granted special access to this lighthouse, I also have a shot from the view on top.
Originally activated on December 15, 1879, the original light was located atop the light keepers house. It was moved to its current position when this structure was built in 1913. the lighthouse has been closed to the public since its automation on november 1976.
