Looking forward

With 2007 behind me I look forward blogging a new year, in 2008!

These are icicles hanging off the roof of our dog house.
The dog house is completely insulated and heated, and has a window and a dog door. The siding, shingles and paint colors all match the real house. Our cats have there living space in the attic of the dog house.

tracks

With snow covering the ground It is easy to spot several tracks. we have dog, cat, horse, tractor, car and human tracks scattered around the property. This was taken with a long exposure during nighttime .

the Willow tree

I used a fifteen second exposure to capture the willow tree at night. I caught the house, the truck and our car in the frame also. We did have a white Christmas, we have about 6-8 inches of snow right now.

Abby

Our dog Abby gets cold this time of year, we got her this coat for the cold weather. Thank you everyone that left a comment this year!

Snow in a Globe

here is the same snow globe this time with the snow. My blog's reflection can be seen in the corner of the image. Thanks to all my visitors, and Merry Christmas!

This is a snow globe. It has a figure of Santa clause drinking a can a coca-cola. If you look closely you can see a reflection of my blog, and yesterdays post.

Snowfall

Today I celebrate my 150th post and some newly fallen snow! we might have a white Christmas here in Spokane after all. Here is some snow that gathered on some branches, and I used my flash to show the snowfall as well.

The Star

Here is the star from our Christmas tree. I turned the contrast up for this effect.

Today we found one store that was st ill selling trees and we got one. We brought it home and decorated it, complete with a star on top. Here is a picture. Merry Christmas everyone!

one of the strings of lights I keep up all year is the string behind one of my flags. It is very convenient to leave decorations out all year, I just plug them in during the Christmas season. Today is the first day of my Christmans vacation, no more school for the rest of 2007! hooray!

Usually around this time of year we decorate our house with an assortment of candles. This is one from a couple of seasons ago. I actually haven't decorated for Christmas at all yet, besides the lights I leave up all year.

Yesterday's and today's posts are of coffee creek, which flows into kootenay lake. This picture was taken in the opposite direction.

This snowy scene is found near Kaslo, British Columbia. We usually make a trip up there every year.

Shot shooting the canyon

I was very Glad to have my Grandpa, Don Wiley, come with us to the Grand Canyon. He Has posted several of his pictures of the canyon on his photoblog Slackwater

Earlier in the month I thought my pictures along with my external hard drive were gone forever. That would include our families entire grand canyon album. This is a picture taken by my Dad, of me taking a picture of the Grand Canyon.

State Patrolman

After working in the Spokane Sheriffs office my Grandfather went on to the Washington State Patrol. In the picture He is standing, second from the right. I like this picture because He made several great friends while working with the WSP. I also Like the Harley Davidson motorcycles. This picture was scanned out of our photo albums.

A hand drawn picture of my Grandpa and His mule pack string. I took a picture of this drawing inside it's frame then cropped it down. I think I will continue a mini series on my Grandpa throughout this week. Thank you for all the wonderful comments recently, I will miss him very much.

In memory of My Grandpa, Dave York, 1933-2007

My Grandpa passed away last night, after 74 great years. One of My Grandpa's favorite Jobs was running a pack string for the U.S Forrest Service in Montana. This picture of him was taken in the early to mid 90s, We do not know who the photographer was .

Thats me on a cliff, 30 feet below a rushing river. this was taken by my dad on my summer trip to Montana.
Recently I found myself in another dangerous situation. That is, that my external hard drive with my picture archive on it had failed. Thankfully my Dad knew someone that would get the data off of it for free. He has recovered all my data and I will get it back on a new drive next week.(this picture was on my local drive when the other crashed)

Wiley Willows Private Drive

This is the road labeled Wiley Willows Private Drive. Actually this picture shows the whole road. It is very small. between the pine trees is my house, in front of the house is our willow tree. This year we have started planting more willows around the house, including a row of willows parallel to Wiley Willows Private Drive.

Back in a warmer time

Back to the archive, this is a slightly cropped version of a picture I posted months ago. these lilacs grow right in my front lawn in the summer season. here in Spokane, Washington(state) we have hit a heat wave and locally all the snow has melted.

The ski resort up at mt. Spokane will open shortly, It's snowing as of this post. The sun was setting when I took this, leaving a little sunlight on the top of the mountain.

snowstorm

Right now we have 3-5 inches of snow. Earlier today my Dad went out with his new tractor and cleared our driveways, but since then the storm has covered up his work. I used the flash to get this effect, it almost looks like outer space.
